DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Patek Philippe, Genève, marked to mvt, case and dial for Tiffany & Co., 45mm, 18K gold OF original case with hidden rear hinge, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement with counterpoise, 22J, wolf's tooth winding, "Extra" marked mvt, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#186336 with matching serial number within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 43.4 dwt (67.5). A scarce 22 jewel example with "Extra" marked mvt, interestingly our firm in 2010 sold an identical watch with the consecutive serial number of 186337.
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, fully wound, will tick briefly with a twist, overhaul needed, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, few fine to micro-fine scratches, oxide to regulator assembly, balance jewel disk, and escape wheel cap, mvt with overall surface dirtiness evident throughout; dial with small flaking to rim of seconds-register hole which appears to have possibly been enlarged somewhat; fine hands, hour is a replacement of somewhat different appearance, hands with some small bits of finish loss, some oxide to tip of minute; case shows light wear, profuse fine and micro-fine scratches to rear, some scratches and small mars near opening areas, band and bezel with few pinpoint nicks, no dents, cuvette with micro-fine scratch striations from aggressive past polishing which we suspect was likely to remove a previous engraving, some dings at perimeter of cuvette; tight bow, crown shows light wear; glass crystal with scattered short scratches and dings.
